Default getting rid of sky

i was on here the other night asking bout this, but heres nutha question, if i cancel the subs, can my existing sky+ box be used as a freesat box, if so, roughly how many chanels would i receive, do i need to take the card out? cheers anyone

It will revert to a FreesatfromSky box.

You get all the fta channels, plus C5 / Five US / +1 / Five Life / +1 / Sky 3 / Setanta Sports.

nope there is no way to record after you have cancelled your subs mate

Only way to record after that is via the Video player using the good old VHS tapes.

I thought you used to be able to pay Sky a small sub to keep the recorder working but not get any of their channels. I thought it was about £10 a month. They may not do that anymore though.
You could ring them and ask them.

yes thats a very good point mate... I forgot about that option... if you subscrribed to there package then u can have the recording facility for free.

And yes as mentioned above by charlie that if you paid a tenner a month you could having the recording feature running.

As stated again by charlie you would need to call them and ask them.

Yeah if you ring sky and ask them they offer the recording facility for £10 if your not with them. They ask for you card number and s/n and its working in a few minutes

hi m8,at 10 pounds a month you could buy a freesat PVR for less than a years subscription.
