Hi,
I have a ps3, but the kids have a wii which has taken priority on the main tele...Question i have is, is it possible to connect the ps3 to my pc and play it via my monitor? My graphics card has is a 1024mb with TV out and DVI there is nothing on the monitor for me to plug the playstation directly in there I am wandering if i buy a HDMI lead, andf a HDMI/DVI converter if it would work that way If not then i am going to buy a new TV...But didnt want to waste money on a TV if it was possible to do it this way Thanx for any help, it would be appreciated! |

It should work fine mate as long as you have the correct software to display the image and because HDMI outputs audio as well, you only need one cable
. I suppose it would make PC/PS3 multi-tasking alot easier because you can just switch between game and PC haha.

As said in my other post, you will need some software to be able to view the PS3. I have never really done anything like that but I would probably use Nero as I think there is a TV/Video application in that package.

From what ive learnt:
My graphics card has a DVI (OUT)...so thats no good...my monitor isnt HDCP copliant HDMI and Computers Ive just bought me a new 22" Samsung monitor for £150 and im gonna sell the 19" Packard Bell that ive got Even still...because you have to transfer HDMI to DVI...you dont get sound...so i have got to use the regular RCA adapter and get an RCA - 3.5mm stereo plug and use sound that way...Hopefully the sound works! Bottom line is, if anyone else has this problem, i found a couple of other forums useful but obviously i dont think i should link them here, lol...Bottom line - make sure the monitor you have is HDCP compliant...as it says in that link...a lot of the DVI monitors arent. |
