Desktop wont work, but on laptop it works

Hey, thanks for reading this thread, i got a problem, when i connect my modem to my desktop it wont work, well it might for a min or 2, then it disconnects, or not even connect, but when i use my laptop on my modem, it works fine, high speed n all that, so can anyone tellme whats the problem with using my desktop, and is nothin to do with the connection, i formatted it , so is all basic knew, it used 2 work, i used 2 use my desktop and connect wireless now i cant,

i changed the mac 2 many times, all macs work on the laptop.

u can use programs like smac or tmac to change the nicards mac or on some nicards u can change them manually
