hey okay this is my first post , and no i hav'nt contributed to this forum to start asking stuff straight away but im going to anyway.
Does anyone know any sites or something i could buy a chipped V+ HD box ? if not do you know any other HD cable boxes that i could receive all the channels on ? Also if i did get a chipped box would VOD (virgin on demand) still work? yeah i know theres Starview but i want a proper good HD box and i heard about the Eurovox HD box but i read that that only worked with a satellite dish

Right well you have two options i think at the moment.
You have the V+ Box that will give you one HD channel (BBC HD) but i think 3 more are coming around March-ish time. You wont be able to access VOD as eventually you will get your box blacklisted and you could end up with a knock at the door. wizboxes.co.nr/ - Go to their. I think if you ask for it to be programmed they will do it for the price their selling it at. But im not sure. You have to e-mail them. You will be paying about £220 for this from this site. Your second option is to go for the Eurovox EX7000HD. This box will allow you to recieve all the channels available, as long as you have the latest firmware to do so. This box will allow you to record, pause etc by using the USB port with an external hard drive. This one doesnt have one built in. This box will also not allow you to get VOD content. You are right in thinking about the Eurovox working with just satellite. This was the EX8000 which was a satellite only reciever. This box is retailing at the cheapest of £170 - 180 i think. Hope this helps |

I would say you would be better off getting an EX7000HD, or a Starview 4. Personally I dont see a real point in getting the EX7000HD or a chipped V+ box if they only are providing 1 HD channel and in the future, only a couple more. Doesn't really justify the cost. However, the EX7000HD is cheaper than a V+ box and looks good too

Eurovox still only has 1 tuner. So its a bit crap with recording as it can only record one transponder with the channels on that. V+ will allow you to watch one channel and record two others, which can be handy at times. The Eurovox doesn't need a card or programmer. You just need the firmware and you can load this on with a USB stick or connecting the box to your pc via a Null Modem cable. The V+ will require flashing of a chip i think and reprogramming of a card. Also a Return path blocker too, to prevent talkback to the VM servers. |

Not nescessarily. It could be just fed inside with a splitter. So it could be one cable. Not sure what it is with the V+ box. But it doesnt have 2 tuners. Its 3 or 1 lol
