Arrow Twinhan 2301 aka TwinhanDTV Cab-CI

Has anyone got this working?

Charlieram suggests he has....

I would like to know does it work in Vista and what drivers do you install ? Vista picked this card up as a DTV-DVBC 878 and no joy so stupidly I installed the Mantis which totally messed up my Vista. (my dvb-c is non mantis)

I have dried this card in XP using not only the drivers from the original cd dated 2004 and also the latest ones from Twinhan/Azureware V 1.2.3.8 and no joy

I have used the original software to scan and nothing no FTA PS. I ordered 2 cards so tried another card as well......

Cable feed is ok as I have broadband.....

ProgDVB - nothing
DVBdream - nothing

no signal strength and no quality , no chanels - help ?

Hi,I've just bought one, bloddy cheap for a cable card (£34.50) but as you've found out it only works in xp (it does say on the box for xp 2000). Up to now I,ve only been able to get DVBViewer to recognise the card in xp (dual boot xp and vista) and I have it working with that driver 1.2.3.8. I'd say the whole problem with this card are the drivers as I've tried to get DVB Dream to use it with no joy, in vista the o/s should install the latest bda driver for you (I'm trying windows 7 ATM) media center recognises it (2nd card with my floppy) so when time allows I'll do a re scan for the 14 day epg. so if you bought DVBViewer I know that works with vplug! oh btw the CI dont work on that card with a blue zeta and fun 4.

Willin, so you are saying.....

1. you cant get it working in Vista even though windows update installed the latest BDA for you

2. you have it working in XP but only using DVBViewer

3. The cam is redunadant and not worth messing with (im happy using vplug anyway) would be good if the cam worked as I couldve used it in MC but not in Vista!!!

have you used progDVB, by any chance ?

I've not tried in vista properly, installed a copy of DVBViewer in vista used the twinhan and started a scan got to 1% and froze the o/s remember I'ts windows 7 beta so will have bugs but I think I'ts the drivers for the card as I said they are for xp.
Yes xp works fine but DVBViewer recognises the card where DVB Dream don't (the only two I've tried).
Not sure about the CI I'm still going to try other cams when poss.

Don't like ProgDVB that much (so don't use it) it nearly always crashes my machine!

You must both be doing something wrong , I have the 2031 and it works with XP and Vista using 1.2.3.8 driver version off their website but not directly in the respective media centers. It works fine in DVBViewer and ProgDVB and if you use DVBSBridge with either of these two programs then i will show up as a DVB-T card under XP MCE and VMC.
It also works with DVBDeam but I have not tried that version of DVBSBridge, DVBViewers works well with decent channel change times.

Problem with progDVB might be the transponer lock time, with the last few versions it went straight through the list without locking and finnished in about 2 seconds, first try a manual transponder scan and see if it locks on. I think there is a new setting in options somewhere for a delay in Milliseconds before it scans a frequency.

Any more news on this card with VMC and a CI (Without DVBSBridge)?

This card does indeed work with vista.

As you say we need to find out if the Ci can be used - that would rock.

I have noticed before there are some pins on the card that may connect to an auxillary power connector such as a floppy power cable (maybe the cam needs extra power?) but I am too chicken to try, don't want to fry my card or mobo but if someone else wants to try it fell free and let me know if it works, I posted a picture on DW forums

Hi charlieram, sorry for the delay in posting, been working away for a few days, well it’s not often your wrong (and you’re not), fiddled with DVBDream for a while then reset the device and restored defaults, lo and behold I had the option to scroll between the floppy and DVB 878 (twinhan) DVBDream works with both - sorry Kalvink - this is in xp.
No luck with windows 7, every time I go to scan it freezes the o/s it must be 7, I’ll try DVBDream when time allows, will have a look at that connector on the card, why would twinhan not provide instructions for this??

Do you mean it'll install on Vista, or do you mean it will work with Vista Media Center?
