Seems a shame though to let a modem go to waste though mate.

I too have been agonising over this. Heck i'm the guy that's still got a Replay PVR. I didnt chuck that when the going got tough.
But if i can't get onto the 192.xxx page to configure the modem. And i have searched high and low for a solution i have to admit defeat. For some reason all i get is page cannot be displayed. I have tried the modem connected to pc, connected to router, with nthell cable in and out, with just usb cable but all to no avail. I'm perplexed. |

Tried to go through and without. Same result.
If there are any reccommended suppliers of ambit hexorware modems please pm me. I know there is no buying or selling on these forums. But if anyone can suggest sellers totally unrelated to this site please pm me. |

Just a quick update. Inspite of everything i said there was still something stopping me buying a new modem, when i knew is should try and fix this one. So i calmely read thorugh everything again yesterday, and found where i was going wrong. I couldn't access the 192 page as i wasn't setting the static ip correctly.
Anyway, i did it yesterday and am back online. I seem to be using a 20meg config but am getting only 10mb from it. Any reason for this? Thanks Lee-ds your words ensured i persevered

yeah it's always good going over and over the stuff and double checking.....seems like people on 20 meg macs are getting 10 meg speeds, i am i know that for a start on the modems that i have with 20 meg macs.. it seems it might all be about the new 50 megs, yet me mate who lives a few miles away and is on a 20 meg mac is still ripping it off that speed in the speed test.
