Default sammy 2100c

r416 and r417 on sammy 2100c, have been removed.

But no led's are flashing when i turn it on (power it up)???

Or do i need to connect it to the cable line, before i can see the LED flashing????

Any ideas of what is going wrong? And is it safe to connect up in this state.

And should i be getting basic free to view channels after r417 and r416 are removed?

Thanks in advance

just connect it and when the box starts just click SETTINGS>TECHNICAL STUFF and RETURN PATH should be OFF. if not read the tutorial again of how to cut it

As abaaba says, check the Return Path option in Technical Stuff and if it says OFF then you are OK. You will receive FTA on your box regardless of whether talkback is cut or not, just make sure it's definateley cut before you try and watch a premium channel otherwise you are in trouble with the CC and most likely the police.

i see nt page only and frozen.

But, if i press channel up button, then it moves to next screen message : powering up, and stays there.

However, at this point, i can see an LED on the box flashing continuously, but not immediatly after turning on box. I take it talkback is cut and its safe??

But, i still cannot get past the powering up page.

So i cannot see the settings, technical stuff, etc, neither can i get to stage of any free channels running.

Is your Net ID correct? Do you get a number on the front of the box when it's booting?

Yes, i get a number which alternates, whilst on nt page. This page does not change until i press channel up. When i press channel up, it changes to "VM powering up" page.

Yes but what number does it stick on? If it's not getting past the VM page, it means there's something wrong. Usually it's the Net ID and/or frequency. Boot into the engineer's menu and check everything matches your area.

I've tried holding down the up and down channel buttons to boot into eng page, but nothing happens.

you probably need to set net id, hold standbye+left+right+ok buttons in and power on, let go at ld5, if your in pure ntl it should auto set after ten mins or so, if not you can set with a funcard, read the fun net id tut in the sticky at the top of cable tv guide, files in downloads.
