In principle, yes.
In practice, depends on the physical details of drive and laptop - some have more space than others.
Format shouldn't be a problem - but is it to be the drive you boot from?
If so, then you need to work out how you're going to get the OS etc on it.

As already stated, If your laptop is also of a SATA format then stripping the HDD out of its caddie and putting it into the laptop will fit fine.

If your running XP or Vista on the machine, these will format using NTFS anyway!! If you have an original License sticker on the underside of your laptop. All you need is ANY matching windows disk for your license key and it will install. Its then a case of finding driver off the tinterweb if you dont already have them stored on disk.

Regards

Craig

The problem is that you will spend a good deal of time downloading drivers for you lappy, to get every it running properly. I installed XP om this Vaio and it was a nightmare getting all the drivers, so I just ended up doing a clean install of Vista, pig that it is. Good luck with it.

Very best regards Wez
