Exclamation Starview 4 The Box Super USB - Issues

This forum is for all you question, problems and solution to anything with Starview 4 The Box Super USB

Here are mine.

Q1.
I was watching the movie channel, Sky Comedy last night and noticed there is some woman specking over the film telling you what they are doing (I think this is for the blind), it also happenes on BBCThree. Is there any way to turn this voice off.

Q2.
Is any way to look at channels by catergory, e.g. Movies, Sport, Music, etc.....?

there already in catorgorys mate
when you have the listing up just press right and it will change then right again and so on
and as for the commantory if the options turned off then its built in to the channel
if not there is an audio button which turns it off mate
on the remote

Hiya

Yep, you can use an external HDD, but I know there is a top level gb. I have had probs trying to run a usb powered 150gb HDD so would advise going the mains powered route as apparently the STV4 may not be powerful enough to run it from the USB.

Hi and welcome to Techwatch
download the zip file off the chatterbox toolbar, in there are the flash files and instructions how to load them and how to get your channels etc.
(the flash file isn't the latest but it will work (latest firmware is v1.07)

I have no experience with this fault but I have read that it could be caused by using a usb stick that had been formatted on a PC and not by the box itself.
there is also fix out to recover the box (similar to jtagging)

there are quite a few threads on this forum with the same problem so have a search and a good read.
