As for your signal, have you tried plugging it directly into your cable wall outlet without any splitters or other cable hardware connected? If you get channels on a dreambox/subbed receiver normally then there should be no reason why your tt-1501 cant get a decent signal.

Theres plenty of boosters on ebay. Just search "cable tv booster"
I tired that, but when I asked specifically would they bost the V*M siganal I was told it wouldn't.

I have installed a Cable TV amp - and am now getting a improved signal during the scan but the dbvviewer softwear is still not dectecting any channels on the the UK Cable or Uk brouteforce transponder lists or any of the transponder list the kind guys on this site had sent me.

I am at a loss of what to try next. any sugestions anyone?

just to add to this thread. I have a tt-c1501 works fine with mp with vplug. Changed to ci cam and works fine as well. The autoupdate didn't work instantly so i put in the current keys and it has since updated perfectly. No issues with mp at all. Very stable.

Which dvb software are you using?
