I run my desktop on XP and my lappy on vista. Must say that while XP has its PITA moments, its nothing like VISTA. What a piece of S***. If I used the lappy for anything but surfing from the sofa i'd change it.

As far as windows 7 goes, think i'll wait a couple of years till most of the bugs are fixed.

Bring back DOS 5. It always did as it was told, never did anything it wasn't, was ultra stable and once you got the hang of the command line was a breeze to use. Possibly the best OS ever.

Always going to be the case when you starting bring GUI's into play. Text based OS's are always going to be alot smoother since the files incorporated into making it are a mineuit percentage compared to Vista etc.

We as humans are always demanding more, And when things dont go to plan we then slate everything about it! Im not saying GUI'ed windows are perfect. But companies want to make revenue, to do this they need to make a product which especially in a now computer environment is demanded.

I personally dont mind Vista, Its by no means perfect, But im a gamer so get benefits from using DirectX10, Something XP doesnt have. I also run a dual boot for programs which dont correctly run in vista as opposed to XP.
