Hi, I have a Max V 2008 updated with newest software, about 2 weeks ago the channels have started to pixelate and most lose signal altogether, this happens frequently through the day and only seems to rectify itself at around 9.30pm. I have tried altering the frequencies by 0.5mhz but this has not helped and is still suffering from the same problems, my signal is still strong for all the frequencies and is between 85-90%. Has anyone else experienced similar problems or have any suggestions for a solution? I'm in the northwest area and have a digital signal coming through if that helps.
Cheers lads. |

I would say your signal is too strong
did you flash with the 8% fix firmware, if you did flash with one of the others (otherwise you may need an attenuator) Last edited by smoggy; 08-02-09 at 06:11 PM. |

Yes I did flash with the 8% fix firmware and still no differrence. I have a signal booster fitted as I also have a box upstairs. Could you let me know which attenuator I would need as there seems to be a large selection of different powers.

its pointless boosting a signal and then doing the opposite by attenuating it.
your signal strength is too high flash with the other firmware (not the 8% fix one) and remove the booster and see what you get. if you are getting low signals on the one upstairs then you could just boost that line only. |

Cheers Smoggy will give it a try. Please be patient with me as I am not a tech whizz. Sorry forgot to mention that this was happening before we did the 8% upgrade a few days ago because we thought the signal was too weak, not thinking it may be too strong.

I would start from scratch and flash with the normal firmware and see what signal strength you get and then take it from there (I'm not a tech whizz either, far from it)

I have tried the normal firmware and the booster has been removed. The signal strength is around 82-85, but it is still pixelating and going to "NO SIGNAL" and if anything seems slightly worse than before. I have ordered an attenuator from ebay.
