hi guys,
i am new to this and i have just brought a starview 4 box and have set it up through cable and am happy with it.all i want to know is some basic instructions on what to do when i have problems.like i said i am new and dont understand anything.from what i can gather i need to update firmware sometimes, what is this?and where do i get latest?i also read every now and then i will need to put new code in?
any help would really be appreciated to get me going so i am ready.
just one last thing on one of my channels there is a warning from v!"£$n saying i am using an unauthorised box..is this anything to worry about.

dont worry about the sign warnin u everyone gets that ...it just shows on boxes which r not vermins set top boxes ...there is no talkback on starviews so vermin have no idea u have one but i d prob recommend u bought a splitter ( a cple of quid) and attached ur vermin supplied box to it on stand by just in case they put updates tho their box,,,..////// firmware is the download or programme that enables the box to do wat it does.....if u read tho the threads there plenty of tutorials of how to flash ...(.put download onto box..)...if u r stuck and i ll post u one ,,theres no need to put the codes in if u have the firmware ,,it s better to put the firmware on ,,../// u can get the firmware either from on here on private fta under downloads under other downloads if not there i d reccommend u download wizard mods toolbar ,,u can find this by googgling it.....hope this helps ...bigfella

m8 heres a basic tutorial for starview 4 usb..........................................To load the files just drag them or download and save on to a memory stick and then put the memory stick in the USB port
at the back of the receiver. Then press the menu button on the remote there you will see USB
at the bottom of the screen. Just highlight USB with the remote then you will see the
(Box Super USB Bin file) appear on the screen. Highlight the Box Super USB Bin File with the
remote and press th ok button then you will see the file start loading in to the Box.

After you have uploaded the software from your memory stick,

• Plug the box in to the TV using the usual scart lead.
• Turn on the box, press menu and go to installation,
• Select correct provider i.e. NTL, C/W or TW
• Then automatic scan
• Once the channels are found, exit back to the blank screen
• Press menu (ignore what is on the screen) and press 1 5 7 0, this takes you to a secret menu,
• Go down to emu/key and turn it on.press default key
• Now exit and wait for it to store all the data.
• That’s it, have fun ,,,hope this helps .bigfella
