if you got a error while flash and you unpluged the modem from the mains then yes its bricked you will need to lift the chip next modem you flash mate and you get a timed out error on softJ dont unplug the modem use a program called Ambit(CHO) config Beta 96 and flash the bootloader with that then reflash it with softJ as long as you dont unplug the modem you will be fine SoftJTAG Crash fix :) check this post out

No i don't get an error when flashing, it's when it's connecting. I have managed to connect but the "write bootloader" option is not highlighted so i still think it's not a brick as i haven't managed to flash.
Will take a look at the other post you have linked to. Cheers |

Just a quick update to my problem,
I have tried allsorts to connect in soft jtag and when it states connection established it freezes, with all buttons greyed out so there is no option but to end program in task manager. Anyway i connected in hyperterminal ( I have no p option ) and this is what loops on and on. Anyone fancy having a read and helping out.? - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - - - BCM3349A0 100000010346890 MemSize: ......................... 8M Flash detected @0xbe000000 Signature: a603 Broadcom BootLoader Version: 3.1.6d release Gnu Build Date: May 30 2007 Build Time: 09:18:45 Image 1 Program Header: Signature: a603 Control: 0005 Major Rev: 0000 Minor Rev: 0000 Build Time: 2007/6/29 09:55:05 Z File Length: 935084 bytes Load Address: 80010000 Filename: ecram_sto.bin HCS: 27c9 CRC: 335c0056 HCS failed on Image 2 Program Header Performing CRC on Image 1... It may be rebooting due to not being able to sync to the network, which with the feed out, obviously it wont!
