Default searching for signal

a friend has a eurovox max v, he's been in touch with vermin and they have told him they have turned the signal strength to 38%, the box wont work with that so he fitted a signal booster, still no signal, any ideas?

why did he ring VM in the first place ?
Why would they tell him they have reuced the signal strength ?
And to 35% even a subbed box will not work at that level.summat not right here.

he rang them to check signal strength or if there was a fault on the line, vm boxes do work on that strength.

Since he called VM he must have a VM box, what happens when he connects that, as if he connects direct i.e. no splitters etc, then surely its a problem with VM or the cable.

VM should also be able to see their own box if he calls them to check sig strength etc.

I have a 80% sig strength on my Eurovox

Yes i agree with pete1872 and 80% is the mark you really are looking for.too much may cause jumpy channels and too little may loose channels and cause break up.

If you want a signal booster, you can get really cheap ones on eBay. I think seeing as you are getting a 38% signal, a 6DB attenuator might be best for you

Im sure the sub box would need around 80% signal aswell has he tried the box at someone elses? Might be a faulty tuner then as they are known for having faulty tuners.
