Hi guys, think I already know the answer to this but thought i'd check as ive read conflicting views on this.
I always thought that 7w would not be recievable for me, as I don't own a 3m dish, though have read since that i should be in with a chance. I have a 1.1m triax dish. I realise that i won't get the horizontal tp's. I had a quick point yesterday but didn't get anything. Didn't want to waste time on it if it is impossible, so thought i'd ask about see if anybody reckons I will be in with a chance of even a couple of showtime channels or it's not worth a go. Cheers Guys Rick

I doubt you'll get anything. The strongest tp carries City7 Tv , you could try that, 11860V I think.

Nailed a few transponders with a test rig (Gibertini 100cm) on a good day here in the Midlands. Try 11.862v first but look at a larger dish.
Edit: too slow, lol |

Forget it - the H tp's are only half the strength of the V tp's. in the UK

Yep, no chance at all on H's as you already know rick. To even stand half a chance on a V tp, you may have to tweak the dish from outside, and make sure the lnb is optimised. On the Triax 110, the lnb has to go towards the dish more, so you need an lnb with a long neck. The best one I found was the TWIN inverto Silvertech.

Thanks guys,
I had a try on 11.862v but not messed with the dish. Might give it a go over the weekend. Thanks for the prompt replys. It was after reading in what satellite n digital tv which says a 1m dish minimum in london and a 1.2 in edinburgh for 7w which got me pondering. I looked at a few other sites which suggested it might be possible, but plenty more that said it wasn't. At least I know for sure

Well, I've had 11862V on a Fortec Star 90cm (actually only 85cm), that started me off, and made me go slightly bigger to the TD110.

Do you just get the v's with the td110 ? I'm guessing that i'd need atleast a 1.5 to get the verticals and 3m ish to pull in the horizontals. The missus threw a fit when I swapped the mini dish for the 110, can't see me getting away with anything bigger. Not and have something I hold very dear to me get smaller, john wayne bobbit style lol

Yes, just the verticals, although I often get a lock on some of the stronger horizonatals, but not usually a picture, although I have once or twice.
I had a 1.8m prime focus for a couple of weeks very recently, that was good, all horizontals and all verticals in all weather, it was brilliant. Unfortunately I was not allowed to keep her. She's now installed in someone elses back garden. But I'm a little richer now.![]() I'm going to try to sneak in 1.5m gibby at some point, I may get away with that if I'm lucky.
