pace 4000 net i.d problem

hey, I've got a vm pace 4000, I'm getting error 12 on boot, which is usually a problem with the net i.d, the tuner or the feed. The feed is fine as it is the feed I have used on other boxes.
I've pulled the red jumper and the battery and left them out of the box for 45 minutes but the net i.d is not resetting and the funcard i.d setting method is not working.
Anybody experienced this problem before? I've only come across one article where the person describing this problem had to get themselves an rs232 to scart to modify the box config file to set the net i.d.
Any help would be great.

What about doing it through OCD while jtagged?

I don't have a jtag so was hoping there would be another way to wipe the memory in order to reset the net i.d. ahwell, if no-one knows any other way then I was gonna get a pogojtag soon anyway, will I be able to use this to reset the net i.d?

im in the same boat,and ocd doesnt even register a thing so im stuck with winging kids during the school hols

i know my connection is good as i try both bke and sdt to get details and they both work great

Do fun cards work in Leeds any more to set the net id.

its not even that m8 the box doesnt blank welll 09999 it just give 5 random numbers so u cant use the fun method

Thats what 4000 do for me always random numbers and never 09999. But the fun works every time.

lol ive always had it go to 09999 only ever once had a box give random numbers,and i set that with ocd,but this 4000 isnt having any of it

I have had that just do the fun again but start from scratch. Use toxic for the ext and net id v2 for the int and flash go into em with the box on stream then put the fun in it boots every time to the net you need. But you know this lol.
