Default Jtag error with BKE 2.2

I have an old Pace 4000-T box that on really really old software.

I have built the Jtag cable from the PSXnet guide and checked everything. When using it on the box i get an error saying PC to Target cable disconnected.

Any ideas what i'm doing wrong? I've read up about bytes and forced updates?

Any help is much appreciated

That error usually means bad or wrong connection, check you have wires correct, also is your lpt1 port cable a parallel one ?

Hiya, I built the JTAG using the PSXNEt tutorial (build a jtag tut)

I have a 25pin male header on a short piece of cable that goes from the pc port to the board and a short piece of cable that goes from the board and soldered to the cable box.

I've checked all the wires on the cable box and to the parallel port. Is there any where I can test the JTAG?

Oh and I have a 74LS244 as they had none of the others in stock. However the guide says this chips works fine.

Many thanks.

Hmm, wouldn't let me edit the original one.

MacMot is running.

My JTAG & Box (Jtag taken out of box when powered on!)

I put the box on-stream and an update didn't seem to do anything, still boots up with the TW firmware.

Network ID: 09999

*SOLVED*

After looking up the pinouts for the 244 the original schematic has an error in that pins 3 & 4 from parallel port are reversed. All working now.
