look at your Modem LEDs, if is it on for seconds and off, which mean it bricked, cant use serial port to fix,, I have Webstar and it bricked now, finding a way to fix it back

I'm sick of getting these daft friggin characters in Hyperterminal....
With " MY " experience i know its a bad connection / dry joint !

But i can honestly say i'v tried everything except another Max232 which i'm going to do tomorrow to try and solve this problem

Just thought i'd post this before i went to kip LOL

i had the same problem a good while ago.

but hey you could still flash it right?

thought it was funny realy, i not that long ago tried hitting the P myself and had a lot of late nights trying it turns out it was the lead i recon coz when i shot one of my other max232's on it worked first go..

let me know what it was i recon the lead bud

Sorry i should of mentioned i tried putty after using Hyper G77 matey...
Anyway i'v gota lend of a USB thingy haha i call it this cos i'v never seen one of these USB MAX232's before LOL and i cant get ANY driver at all to work propperly,
Not even the driver i was given with the USB....

Now i used to use a USB Serial Converter with no problem before but i ripped the lead apart to re-wire it for a motorola and now i cant get it back together and have no wire anywhere to make another & my soldering skills are below average so thats no good ???

cant you just carry on and hit the keys regardless of what comes up on screen?

i've done this with quite a few and it hasnt bricked and flashed fine.

Thats what i did do mate
but when i got to the stage where i had to press " D " to flash the modem
It doesnt flash (ie) ............... get those dots
it just pops up straight onto the next event ?

I will get this done G77 mate just a matter of time LOL

Sorted it now G77 mate
It was the joinings in the max232 to the modem....bad joints mate

but sorted now
