Default Haxorware Tutorial

I couldn't find it when I needed but I got hold of it yesterday and I was up and running last. I hope it heps u too guys.

MODS: if this breaks forum rules feel free to delete it. And I also got the pack aswell but won't upload it till u give me the go ahead.

Here it is:

Ive just done my 1st 255 and didnt have a single problem (apart from the P option was gone, but i sorted that my 1st go ) and ive done countless 250's.

Thanks go too the ****** Cable Guide as thats were some of this tut is coming from.

Forget any other settings you hear or see for Haxorware, these are working hand over fist for me.

So here goes

--------------------------

K start by opening your 250 by removing the two little feet at the bottom of the modem to show 2 screw holes, remove these screws, remove the lid firmly but gently, its clipped into place.

You will see the 5 pin header at the back of the modem, this is where you attach the Max232 interface, i got mine from TMC - cool guy, and with his the GND / BLACK WIRE has to be attached to the one closest to the back, so just slide the Max232 clip into the 4 pins it slides into off course starting with the one closest to the back making sure the black wire is located there, im sorry, im trying to make that sound as clear as possible, but when yous have the Max232 from TMC or whoever you will understand it much clearer when you are actually looking at it, the Maxs232 requires a serial cable to connect to the COM1 port off course, i have an Elvis programmer here which uses the same lead so i was good to go.

Heres a picture of the Max232 from TMC so you have a rough idea what i mean.

Once that is hooked up then attach the Ethernet lead to your modem but not the power lead, NEVER ATTACH THE CABLE FEED UNTIL THE VERY END WHEN YOU ARE TOLD TOO!

To start with, download the Tftpd32 folder that i put here, if you already have it on your pc then delete it and use this one please, the Haxorware FW is in this folder as well, so everything is basically done for you.

In Windows Networking, set your network adaptor too-

IP Address: 192.168.100.10
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.100.1
Leave any other settings alone and hit OK.

Start Tftpd32 and make sure it says 192.168.100.10 in the Server Interfaces part, if it does not say it then close down Tftpd32, and attach the modem you are hacking to the Ethernet lead and power supply, wait 5 seconds and start Tftpd32 again, it should now say 192.168.100.10, remove the power from the modem again as its not time to have it on yet.

Now start HyperTerminal and 'X' the connection description to make it go away and press 'Properties' which is the little button right under help at the top with the finger pointing down, its the last button.

When you click that then go to 'Connect using' and change it too 'COM1' and hit 'Configurate', then change -

'Bits Per Second' - 115200
'Data Bits' - 8
'Parity' - None
'Stop Bits' - 1
'Flow Control' - None
Press OK

Now make sure that HyperTerminal is the program you are looking at otherwise you will miss the 'P'

Power up the modem and press P straight away, you need to be quick to catch it, you should then see the following- (The part you write is the parts in BOLD)

'Board IP Address [0.0.0.0]: 192.168.100.1 and just press enter 5 times slowly incase you miss anything, after you press Enter 5 times you should stop at the 'Main Menu' which has a load of options, you must press - d and Enter, you will get 2 more things up which are -

Board TFTP Server IP Address [0.0.0.0]: 192.168.100.10

Enter TFTP Filename[]: haxorware10rc3_Ambit250_fullflash.bin (or haxorware10rc4_Ambit250_fullflash.bin if you are using that FW of haxorware)

You should then see the program starting the TFTP of Haxorware etc

When its finished it will say
Tftp Complete
Received 20xxx52 bytes
HSC failed on Image 0 Program Header

Next when asked do you wish to store it then press 'Y' and Enter, then sector to Start press 0 (zero) enter, modem will start working its magic.

Store Parameters [n] just press enter

The modem will do what it does and go back to the main menu again :-)

Exit HyperTerminal and everything else but still dont connect your cable feed, reboot your modem, which i think helps it load the haxorware page quicker as sometimes it does not load after you have flashed it without a reboot, now load INTERNET EXPLORER and press 192.168.100.1 in the address bar and it should take you to the Haxorware page to sort out the settings, cool well the settings are as follows-

Configuration:
---------------------

Settings-

General:

Factory Mode - Unticked
Disable Firmware Upgrades - Ticked
Force Network Access - Ticked
Tftp Enforce Bypass - Ticked
Disable IP Filters on Startup - Unticked
Current IP Filters Status - Optimized

Press Save

Administration:

Control Panel IP Address - 192.168.100.1
DHCP Server - Ticked
Telnet Server - Unticked
Username - Root
Password - Admin

Press Save

Frequency Settings:

Annex - Both
Plan - European
Preferred DS Freq 1 - 402750000 (this is for NTL, TW is 331000000 and others are different)
2 and 3 - 0
Upstream channel - dont change (will change on its own)

Press Save

Addresses:

HFC MAC - Your Mac Address
Ethernet Mac - Dont touch
USB MAC - Copy your HFC MAC address, only this time change the last letter/number on it to 1 letter/number higher.
Serial Number - Dont Touch

Press Save

Config File:

Server IP: Leave Blank as haxorware auto finds this itself!
Filename: Whatever you wish for your filename to use, if you want to force the 20mb option, then use - cmreg-ntlhm250-rts22.cm for NTL area, once again TW etc will be different.

Autoserve Enabled - Unticked
Stored cfg/store new config - no need to do anything here.

Press Save

Baseline Privacy:

BPI - Disabled
Certificate - BPI Public Key

All the rest in the Baseline privacy section will not be touched.

Press Save, basically press save in every page when ever you change settings otherwise they wont stick.

Now put your IP options back to - Obtain IP address Automatically and rebbot your modem and attach your cable feed.

And that is that, that should be everything done and you should now be able to get online.

I hope this tutorial will help those that could not get online, i know a few other tuts are out there but this is the 1st complete one and follow this to a T and you will be online, you cant go wrong, this tut was performed on 250s and 255s with zero problems.

Good Luck everyone.

All credit goes to raj and sbh, racky for putting it all together.

PS: I will upload the pack once I get the clearance from the MODS.

UPDATE...........

DONT UPGRADE FROM THIS VERSION USE THE DUMPS THEN UPGRADE THROUGH THE WEB PAGE.

If you already have Infinite Firmware Loaded.
Haxorware should be loaded to the modems on top of the original firmware that came with the modem, so here with this guide are some dumps taken from my modems that had original firmware on first and now have Haxorware loaded.
This saves you having to bring your modem back to original firmware.
Once Haxorware is on your modem, new versions can be updated via the Haxorware control panel.

rc3 is old
2mb dumps = bad and adds unrequired risk of bricking your modem.
"Forget any other settings you hear or see for Haxorware, these are working hand over fist for me." = cocky, when you probably dont know what they actually mean/do.

M8 its not my work, its some1 elses' work and I have added at the end of it "all credit goes to the guys who deserve it not me"

All I know is that I struggled to get my hands on it when i needed it so i thought I should make it easy for others that is all

and yeah the version in the tutorial is old but you can change it to what ever version u like, and the upgrade is 2 minutes job through the web page.

PS: I did not mean no disrespect 2 u m8,
"Forget any other settings you hear or see for Haxorware" I should have added except from Bad_Ad84 advice lol.

rc3 webgui upgrade is broken, wont work most of the time.

and 1.0 anything wont allow you to upgrade to 1.1 from gui at all.
