I don't know about you, but this would slow me down! People slow down and try to 'straddle' the hole, then breathe a sigh of relief when they completely clear it!
This is actually a speed control device that is in use. Scroll down and look at all three pictures.. And it is much cheaper than speed cameras

I do think that would causes MORE problems than it could solve. I would think that as a driver aproaching that obstacle at say 70mph, you would panic, and eventually do one of two things, slam the breaks on (and cause a pile up) or swerve to avoid it (..and, well, cause a pile up!!)

However, very tasteful joke. Well played!
