Default what set top box

ok new to site and looking for a good set top box any help with this would be great

I'm assuming since you posted in cable tv, you want an stb for cable.

So, tell me a few things, what is your spending budget, do you have cable already and are you willing to learn a fair bit of info in order to get things working?

If you are just starting out in the Cable world then go for something like a DBox or Eurovox that is already set up. Alternatively, you can do what most people do on this forum and mod your own box. To do this, you will need an unlooper (to unlock the card), a suitable card programmer and also the correct files. You will need to cut talkback on NTL boxes too - this is a MUST because if you don't, expect a knock at your door from the feds .

cheers for help my set top box used a card before its now gone down and can only recive the basic pkg cant get hold of the persion that did it in the begining so looking at other options

Then all you need is a progammer, recommend the infinity pheonix it will cost you £30-£40 but alot cheaper than buying a new box
Once youve got that theres plenty of us here that will help you sort your card
