Hi
I have an ambit 200.
I followed haynes guide to the note.
This guide will allow you to easily unlock terminal locked modems that stop at 3348 in HyperTerminal.
Done this and unlocked modem.
Then did:
6f. Latest release for the Ambit 200
using
sigmax2_125_cracked_dump.bin file
all worked as said in manual.

Then did:
6g. Restoring a Compatible Bootloader.
If you have Sigma on your Ambit200, you no longer have a working flash menu at bootup. (Where you press ‘p’ when the modem starts up) This will allow you to restore a working bootloader so you can flash another image onto the modem.

Now can't do anything all I get when using telnet is as follows:

Enter '1', '2', or 'p' within 2 seconds or take default...
So I press p and comes up with ip: I type 192.168.100.1
Then enter all the rest.
It should load screen with list of commands:
so i can edit mac addy etc.
but all I get is:

BCM3348A1

Flash detected @0xbe000000

Signature:a603

Broadcom Bootloader Version: 2.1.6d release Gnu
Build Date May 10 2004
Build Time: 19:06:46

HCS failed on Tmage 1 Program Header

This happens over and over.
So I can't reflash or do anything.

you cant edit mac address from bootloader.

you need to hit p, then flash a working firmware to it.

5100mod should work on ambit 200

so can't get to load new firmware.

try a new boot loader, if after p option it resets sounds like its become corrupt.

uhm... that wont help as it uses telnet.... and theres no firmware on the modem...

paying attention to:
Part 3
Flashing or unbricking using jtag and blackcat.

i'd use an old com port riser to make ur jtag cable,ask on freecycle to get a riser if u dont have 1, why not ask for a cable modem while ur at it, (i got three when i tried).

Can you explain what Jtag means is it part on modem J101? as in tut it shows you how to make cable, but not where to solder etc.

jtag is just another way of communicating with ur modem that doesnt require a boot loader or firmware to be present.

i use a piece of ide cable to connect the tiny solder tags.
