Hi all...

I recently bought a samsung box from a friend of a friend. I plugged it into my connection in the wall and I get all the channels, but I dont have the pin number. So I cannot view any of the movie channels as the parental controls are on during the daytime hours.... is there anyway I could reset the pin number? it is not a subbed box.


any help would be great

That depends on what you have.

Best case scenario is you live in a Pure NTL area, reset the box and go into the engineers menu, you can set the pin in there, change the default frequency and let the box set the NetID itself.

Worst case you'll need the BK/IRD and funcard, with approrpriate programmer to reset the NetID (can do pin at the same time too) for a TW / C&W area

What card is in the box? You will need a funcard programmer to read a funcard or a Phoenix Programmer to read a MOSC.

The card in the box is a Nagra ID VG-03

You can reset it by hold Left, Right, Standby and OK at the same time as plugging the power cable in, release the buttons when you see LD:06 on the display then the box should reboot. Once it does, unplug the power cable, hold Up and Down on the front, plug the power cable back in and release the buttons when you see LD:14, this will bring you into the engineer's menu. To reset the Network ID, you will need to have a Funcard ready, programmed with your BK/IRD and Network ID/Pin (unless you are in Pure, in which case it will reset itself).

Is it a Virgin Media/NTL one?

Unless you are in a pure area, you will lose net id and probably frequency too when you reset the box.

Check your are in ntl pure before you play around.
