Default Euro vox signal strength

Hi

I have Euro-vox Max V2008. I have never flashed it and it has version Sept 2007. I am fine with updating the code manually. Now i have purchased LCD and the picture seems to look blurred on it. The signal strength shown is around 78-80%. Is it becuase of weak signal strength. Can anyone tell me how to boost the signal strenght to 90-100% .

Best Regards
A

If you boost the signal anymore than that there will be too much signal and picture will start breaking up. 80% is the right signal. Check scart cables etc.

Yeah 80% is a good signal strength, you definetly don't need a booster as Smurf has said. If it's not the scart lead thats causing the problem try wrigging it up to another tv in your house then you will know weither it's just the settings on your new TV. Also you should consider flashing your box, it's really easy! If you need any help I'd be glad to give you a hand. Let us know how you get on!

Hi

I am using RGB leads. Someone told me that RGB provides better picture quality than scart. Advice needed.

cheers

Yeah I just use a scart lead myself on two of my boxes, no problems, perfect reception. Although if your scart lead is no good, try a different one. I did have a problem once with a dodgy scart lead I replaced it & everything was grand! Are you having problems mate with your picture quality etc..? If so let us know so we can give you a hand. Hope it helps.

hi,,

if you put later firmware on the box,,(april o8 onwards) you will notice a picture quality improvement due to the tuner drivers being revised,,

hi

i am trying updating the firmware with UFL_MAX_V_30_11_08 . Is it the latest firmware available?
Secondly, i am trying to update it through my laptop using usb-serial RS232 null modem cable.
When i plugged the cable to my laptop with other end to my Euro-vox, it tried finding the driver but no luck. Let me know if i require some USB driver to make it working.
Then i clicked on big Download button, a pop-up window comes up and i click the start button. After sometime, it says receiver not detected with com1,2 ,3 and 4 options showing. I clicked one by one on every option and tried but it says com port not available.
Please advice to fix it .

Best Regards
AKS

If its A Usb serial adaptor you will need drivers for the USB serial adaptor.
