Samsung 2110C Not Activated Before Programming. But ...

hi guys
i have a 2110c that wa snot activated before giving to me to program.
i was told it was so TB was cut and card i programmed as i calculated the IRD of the details in EM.
i get all the channells come up but they remain blank except the free ones.

my friend has since taken the box back and called V***in to have the box activated which they say they have done.
the problem still exists though.

i take it the box wont activate properly due to the card or box TB being done.
the box i can fix the TB back as it was, is there anything i can do to the card to get it back to where it was when it arrived from them, ie blank?
if i did either of the above would it activate ok when plugged back on?

i take it the box was sent to your friend through the post?? otherwise vm would not want to activate the box and probably would wangt the box back. its not a good idea to mod subbed stb's.

if the above is the case talkback is not the problem i would say it is the card. since you have written another image on the card the hit that vm send out wil not talk to the card as the card in affect has another cards info on it. i know the cam id belongs to the card and vm require the cam id to activate cards. so i assume that this is the problem.

to calculate the cam id i think you type in the card number on windows calc leaving the last 2 digits off then convert to hex. the card number will start 06******* or 07*****. im not sure what will happen when the correct cam is entered on the incorrect image and a hit is sent though.

ive now wiped the card and wriitten the correct cam id's onto it, now getting the error saying smart card is not inserted etc

any ideas?

well you need virgin to hit the card again.
