Question Activation page

Tried some MACs from DHCP Sniffer and i get the VM activation page.

Ive also tried the MAC off my subbed modem on my modded modem but still get the activation page.

Firmware
13.5full.stealth.bin, using Amchobit 0.973 beta to configure it.
Stoke Area ex C&W

Anyone had the same problem?

its a mac problem, you cant use a mac from your own ubr, for instance if you live in ubr4 you need a mac from say ubr 6,7,8

Thanks for the reply, still a little confused about whats going on...

If I use my subbed MAC on the cloned modem and disconnect my subbed modem, then I think the cloned modem should be able to get online, or am I wrong ?

When you say I cant use MACs from my own URB, do you mean this will cause my modem to keep rebooting? Ive experienced that in the past when using MACs from my own URB.

With my subbed MAC the clone is not rebooting, but the only webpage it will go to is the activation page.

Also i noticed that the cloned modem gets assigned that same IP address when i use my Subbed MAC or the MACs from DHCP sniffer. I tried 4 MACs in 15-20 mins and got the same IP each time from the DHCP server.

Should VMs DHCP Sever not be handing out a new IP to each MAC address I try?

why would you want to do this? the object of the game is to get a faster mac on your new modem?

yes, use dchp sniffer this will sniff for macs from another UBR that you should be able to use, dhcp force will sniff for macs from your area....so if you have this give it to some one that lives a few miles away to use and sniff for macs for you.

if it's stealth (clone modem) it's more than likly the address will be something like 192.168.100.1:1234 or what ever the 4 last digits are?

your more than likly gonna be issued the same ip address as i think it will stick to your nic address for a while (nic of pc) might be wrong here on this......but i'm sure a pro will clear it up.

cool, if that's the case then he should not be using his clone on the same NIC as his subbed as it's registering both modems on the same nic.... thats why you either by a brand new nic and never use that for your subbed, or smac your nic address when your connecting your clone......

Reason i tired my subbed MAC was because the MACs from DHCP Sniffer (not DHCP Force) would not work, all webpage requests are redirected to the Activation page. I thought that the MACs from the sniffer may not be live or there could be another problem, so i tried my subbed MAC which i know is 'live' - so in theory should not take me to the VM Activation page, but even with my subbed MAC all webpages get redirected to the Activation page.

Im using only "DHCP Sniffer" to get MACs

The 192.168.100.1:1337 you ref to is like an admin page for the modem.
The 'Activation page' that im refering to is h**p://act2.virginmedia.com
All webpage requests form my cloned modem are redirected to this page whether using my subbed MAC or Sniffed MACs.

(The MACs returned by DHCP Sniffer are very similar to my own MAC, with only last 2 character being different to my own, it finds a approx 10 MACs with Bootfiles (Brutreforce mode) in a few minutes. Left it running 24 hours (without Bruteforce) and cant find any more MACs).

BTW My Clone modem is a Ambit 200

just change your network card in your pc! (easier than spoofin it) you should not be running a cloned modem from the same network card as your subbed modem because vm can see it.

vm track your modems mac and you network cards mac together at HQ and can see if you are running another service (modem) trust me they can.

the doner mac your using in DHCP Sniffer can be changed to get you different macs just mess with the last 6 numbers trial and error.

Tip dont leave DHCP Sniffer on for too long as you dont want to attract attention.
