yes the basic TV package will do
you need to tune in a tv channel to check if you can get any stations (ie its not just a matter of plugging cable into TV)

I have rang virgin and have been told i can set the box up myself so i dont have to pay the £30 set up fee.I cant find the white box (isolator) anywhere I took it off years ago so after reading posts on here i am gonna buy the small metal one. Thanks for all your help.

they must have cut you off from the green box in the street.
all my mates euroboxs work without any subscription as long as they had the little white box on the wall in the houses.. they dont even have the fone.
