Default A noob question

Hi all I have been with sky a long time and have finally cancelled, my mate has a eurovox and said he could get me one, the question is will i have to subscribe to virgin media to be able to use it ? Thanks.

I have had cable tv in the past and have just had a look in the corner of the room but i noticed i have ripped the white box out does anybody know what these boxes are called? Thanks.

Be careful when buying eurovox make sure you dont buy a clone buy a genuine box alot of clones going about.

the white box is called an isolator, if you have a cable it could still be live and do all what you need

yeah if you still have it and you buy a eurovox .... Connect it up and give it a go ..... if you get nothing then call up virgin!!

His not being stupid. I think he meant if the line aint active get a package from virgin so they activate line so he can use eurovox.

Ive tried a portable tv on the line coming in but it seems dead, I even tried my multimeter on the cable and didnt pick up any voltage at all, Virgin said they will do a phone line for £11 a month with basic tv channels Is this all i need?Thanks.
