Have you considered other possible sites for the dish as it dosen't neseccarily need to be on the side of the house.

As long as you could get line of sight on the satellite you dish can go almost anywhere, like tucked away at the bottom of the garden. You can also get transparent dishes, which btw are accepted in alot of conservation areas.

To get an idea of where to put your dish, you need to know which way is due south, your dish needs to point a little to the left of due south (28.8 degrees). Anything in the way could block the signal, but depending on the distance an object is away from the dish it might see over it. You could also use Dishpointer.com to check out locations, that also has a line of sight checker.

It is supprising just how well a dish can be hidden with a little imagination.

Hope that helps.

They have just brought out a type of folded dish. if you cant have a dish , maybe you could have an aerial, even in loft, for digital terestrial tv.
