Hi,
I am currently doing a bit of reading up, trying to decide what equipment to buy. My question is about the south african supersport channels. i have seen them in a pub in my town, so i am sure they can be received in the uk. What size dish would i need? (i am in south yorkshire). And also can these channels be unlocked with a cam or softkeys or would i need to get my hands on an official card. Lastly, if i did need to buy a card, how available are these in the uk? Many thanks, Leon. |

Something around 5m should do nicely for the South African SuperSport channels!
More likely the channels are the Albanian channels of the same name on 16E. 1m is required for reliable reception of them. Currently available on patches, but for how much longer isnt known. Subscriptions are fairly cheap - but they dont have many 3pm games on.

well, i looked for the logo on the channel and it is the sa one, unless the albanian ones use the same logo. it doesnt matter anyway, i cant possibly have a 5m dish lol.
can anyone tell me then, which channels carry 3pm saturday matches, with english commentary, and only need maybe a 1.1m dish. and also whether i can unlock them, or if necesary buy a subscription. thanks again, Leon. |

Sky Italia on Hotbird - £900 just for the card for the year, otherwise you are stuck with Canal + using the Diablo Light but I don't think they have English commentry, but I could be wrong! I am sure someone will tell me.

I thought that Showtime had the 3pm matches?
Anyone know? The 7W Showtime horizontals are easy on a 1.8m ( South East UK!!)

Right, just a bit more info then i think i can make my decision. i am thinking about buying this item from ebay,
patched dark box hd satellite sat dish + motor + diablo on eBay, also Digital Receivers, Satellite Boxes Receivers, Satellite Cable Freeview, Consumer Electronics (end time 22-Feb-09 20:12:30 GMT) what are the opinions of you guys on the receiver, dish etc? other than cable and connectors, is this everything major i need to get started? can any of you offer a better price than this for a similar setup? can any of you recommend a reliable installer in the south yorkshire area? and lastly, can this receive the nova channels mentioned earlier, and what is a gamma card? many thanks in advance, Leon. |

Personally I would steer clear of the Darkbox, its has good spec on paper but suffers from s/w glitches.
PS: You never replied to my PM?
