Hi, I'm looking at installing dish (not motorized); (not by myself) and hope to get Hotbird 13deg and Eurobird 9deg. Now the problem being I'm in council house and their regulations are not so clear. They asked me what size dish I was thinking of and I said 60cm; so they sent a letter back saying o.k 60cm max. Now, i believe this is probably not going to do. So is there a dish out there which will give me a gain of whatever is required near enough to 60cm or I could twist their arm if I can convince them with something up to 70cm. I am in the West Midlands. Is there anyone near there to install this dish for me when I get round to buying one? I have seen a penta --http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/High-Gain-85cm-Dish-Mono-Block-LNB-installation-Kit_W0QQitemZ320281181581QQihZ011QQcategoryZ29783Q QtcZphotoQQcmdZViewItem
Is this answer to my problems? Also it says its a 68cm in size although its listed as a Fracarro Penta 85CM High Gain Dish. Thanks all for your help. ![]() |

The penta is a very good dish.
What is your location? As you can get hotbird on a 60cm, but will probably struggle to get both birds. Couldnt you install the dish in the garden? Hide it away some where? Maybe then a bigger motorised dish

The Orbital 58cm dish would suit your purpose, its shaped like a Sky Zone 2 dish, and we have tested it with a monoblock and confirm it works great. See following link: Orbital Platinum (58cm) dish, satellite dish, hotbird satellite dish,
Price is just £22 and a 4 degree monoblock £29 Also the dish on eBay comes with a 6 degree monoblock for Astra 1 and Hotbird, so this is no good for you as you need a 4 degree one. Also £89.95!! is damn expensive, you could get a 80cm motorised dish pack for this money! Hope this helps?

I'm in Coventry; not poss to hide dish in garden as neighbours dish is in front of the house so i guess it needs to be at the front for alignment; also want to avoid motor dish; so what dish for both birds and what size. Also as advertised on Ebay: [[[Fracarro Penta 68cm Dish in White HIGH GAIN (Better gain than a conventional 80cm dish) The dish is a 68cm in size with better gain than a convetional 80cm dish.]]] Do you think this would do the job??Cheers!! |

Your not far from me, lol
Completed a few Monobloc 4.3° and will do 13e & 9e acheived on a triax Td88. Gibertini 85 is also a good choice and should perform will a Penta 85. Recommend going for 80cm+ as monobloc are spaced for this size dish. |

For these two satellites you would not see any difference between all three dishes, save some money and get the Orbital 80cm Dish pack with 4 degree monoblock - £63 Includes everything you need, down to the raw plugs and bolts for the wall mount and delivered!

Orbital is an enrty level dish ...fact, but will perform ok for the two strong satellites you are after. If your are wanting a professional dish then get one of the three dishes mentioned above. Just to confrim, an Orbital will be ok for 13+9 if funds are limited, if you can spend more, go for a better built dish. (Take it from an installer with 18 years in doing this job daily).

Satelliteman, I respect your views but Orbital dishes perform really well, take this from someone that both sells many dishes and also installs many and Orbital does out perform many of the more expensive ones! In fact I use one myself with a DM800 and pull in 22 satellites in Kent. Sometimes paying more is not an option for many, and infact on many of the main stream satellites you cannot see any difference and I would recommend a decent LNB.
