My Ambit 250 using haxoware gone down in Batley West Yorkshire.
The fella that I bought it off wants £50 to get it back working. I loved to try and do it myself, but am a complete newbie with very little knowledge on this subject. I have done things like satnav and funcards etc,but never tried it on modems. What equipment if any do I need?. Has any body done sorted this problem out and is willing to spare some time over the next few days to teach me on a 1 to 1 basis, starting from scratch. If so pm me , Thanks Last edited by genghis; 21-02-09 at 12:36 PM. |

Ill see if i can find some guides mate to send you ,iv never used haxoware so i cant really tell you what to do but it shouldnt be that difficult & it certainly wont cost you £50.

if its gone down its probably nothing more than a bad mac address problem so you need a sniffer to get your self some macs m8.
you must have a cable internet connection in your house and or friend or reletative who will let them borrow theirs if you dont have one. then get dchp sniffer to get the macs you need to get back on the net. and £50 quid ! he is taking the p**s bud,we will do it for ziltch ! I have used dhcpsniffer to get some macs (92 in total)but I have been told they are no good as they are in the same area where I live. If this is correct whats the point of sniffing for macs.
I did a UBR check and this is what came up. I take it I have to look outside this area,if so then how do i do it?. I have a friend who lives in naerby Huddersfield ( 8 miles away). He subs to VM and has 10 mb. If I get his mac, will it work in my area and on my modem Host Name Resolver Resolved Your UBR is |

Edit the numbers after cust to xxx
as this is the number that identifies your internet connection!

Hi,
If the modem is not connecting to the internet but Haxorware is still working DO NOT SPEND £50. Like the guys say above all you need to do is sniff MACS. Just make sure that you use the MACS thats have a config name next to them in DHCP Sniffer. YOU CAN use MACS from your node but it will cause problems. Find another person that you know on a another node and either trade MACS with them if they are doing the same thing, OR go to a friends house on another node and run the DHCP sniffer there to collect some MACS. I must admit I do run MACS from my own node when needed but depending on the persons internet usage you can get away with it. You'll soon know cause you will keep getting kicked off. ▲ E2A ▲ £50 is a liberty. |

You can use macs you sniff from Batley, without having to trade.

this is the only one I found with a config file. Will this be good to any that I might trade with.
Leeds : What do you mean I dont have to trade with people if I live in Batley?. What if I go to Huddersfield to my friends house and get his mac address, and providing its not in the same UBR area, Can I use his mac. he is a legit customer of NTL? Techwreck: I did use brute force when I was sniffing - how do i know which ones to save and which one to dispose of out of the 92 I managed to get. OK. The next question is when I get a mac address tommorow, can you fellas help me with putting the macs onto the modem? Finally thanks to all,I am slowly begining to learn a bit about flashed modem. C. U all tommorow Sorry just one more question and that is If I use dhcp sniffer at one my friends house who is with Tiscali, will those macs do. or has he got to be with Virgin as well.
