another programme i cant get my head around - Techwatch: Satellite TV forums, FTA, Cable, Hardware, & Tech forums

ive down loaded a large programme and it has 2 files labled cd 1 and cd 2
Thought at first they were iso files as inside each folder are files called add-n7tut followed by a number 1 to 20ish.
Anyway it turns out not ot be the case and i have to use a freeware programe called HJsplit to join them up to make 1 file. It has done this but left me with 2 files called add-n7ue.joined and add-7tut.joined

Now what do i do with these 2 files in order to make a exe programme.

\does the download come with a txt file?

They could be .rar archives, try opening the .01 file with winrar

it did come with a text file but no info other than a link to the web site you download the programme from to put it together. This is a screen dump when i try to open 01 with winrar.

in that screendump inside winrar are 2 files
a cue file and a bin file (this is an image)

extract both of them files and load the cue file into nero and burn

Do i have to do this with all 46 files from both cd 1 and cd 2. PS it is nero im trying to get in first place

no. when u open up one of the files in winrar u see the cue and bin file
if u extract these 2 files it extracts them from the lots of files automatically

as an example if u had say nerocd1.001 - nerocd1.046 then u only need to open one of these with winrar and extract. it extracts from all the files automatically

then move onto
nerocd2.001 - nerocd2.046 and open one and do the same

a 2 cd set would have different filenames (ignore the extensions) as in my example

u do need a burning program to burn it tho as bin/cue is an image or u could try loading it into daemon tools as an image (after u have extracted them from rar)

download daemon tools and click on mount image, when it asks where the image is click to this file and you will have virtual cd rom drive with this image on it.

yep got it working now....many thanks. Not sure how it works this way but it did. will save it now for future installs when i wipe hd.
