Default Modded 120 modem?

There seems a lot of discussion regarding modded cable modems? what is the advantage of it being modded?

ok, found out what they are where to get them from. there seem to be a few different models available? which one is the best?

also i understand that i will need to enter the MAC address to set it up. Anyone got a guide?

i only use ambit 250 /255 because thats what i started with but when you get used to them flashing ect they are great reliable mods

With Ambit 100/120/200 you can only achieve up to 10mb top I think.
