Question Ambit 250 Trouble

Hi guys.

I recently sorted a few modems for friends after the update, but one of my mates modem keeps loosing connection after a short period and then re-connects five mins later. I re-flashed it lots of times and have used different macs but that didn't work. I then took it round to another friends house at it works fine there.
Can't really understand why its doing it, unless there is something dodgy with my mates line, but her had no problems before the recent update.
Has anyone else been having this problem?
Or does anyone know a possible solution to correct it?

Cheers

Does the modem keep rebooting or does it just show Limited or No Connectivity in Windows?

could be a signal strength issue have you tried a variable attenuator ? ,it will reduce the signal if its too strong

sounds more like your using the same mac as someone else in your ubr mate, are you scanning and using your macs because you should be swapping them what area are you in

No its not rebooting, and not showing limited connectivity. And sorry for being a bit thick Techwreck, but I don't know much about variable attenuators.
Am in the Middlesbrough area, and to be honest have never swapped the mac before....

yeah it really does look like its just a mac issue ,you need to get/trade for macs in outside your ubr ,if you have a connection scan for macs using dchp sniffer then go to the trade section for swaps.

you need to find what segment/ubr you are in ,there is a web link I think somewhere in the cable section on this forum,it will give you the info you need

get that mac changed as soon as you can, if your's is going down so is the person who has his subbed modem running, like a ping pong effect....
