I have a Compaq laptop - model no. 12XL414A. It's a CM2060.

The problem that I have is that it does not charge, so I'm guessing that I need a new charger. The AC adaptor mode number is LSE9802A.

Does anyone know where I could get one of these and am I right to think that it's my charger that needs replacing.

can you still run your laptop with charger only, you should be able too.
If not then your charger is knackered, or the pin where you plug your charger into the laptop has a broken connection, put a voltmeter across your charger and check for voltage.

It is a possibility, but is more likely to be the battery which is exhausted and needs replacing.
Some laptops have the facility to recalibrate a battery. This can sometimes cure the problem where windows reports incorrect battery life.
It will be described in your user manual if it is an option.

I would at very least get the charger checked out before buying a new one.

Just realised from my sis that the light on the charger is not working and that commection to the back of the laptop is loose. So it does mean I will needs a new charger.
