Hi Guys,

My neighbour who lives 5 doors away fromme got a phone call from Virgin today asking whether he has acted upon their letter of dodgy boxes... as they did not hear anything back since they sent out the letter a month ago. They asked various info as where he got box from etc aftr he denied it, vm pointed out the paypal address he paid to for the box.

Anyone else got any phone calls?

How exactly could VM point out private information from somebody's paypal account ?

Seems as though they are trying to get the truth out of him and its not a crime buying a eurovox its only a crime when connected to there line just tell him to say he brought it but not for himself and he just brought it to make money on it or sumat along them lines. They cant do anything without hard proof.

I think its a nonsense story tbh.

How could they point out where he made payment to and in same breath ask him where he paid to??

Even ironside could see theres something wrong there

Maybe Virgin have set up a bogus box selling outlet, selling yer' dodgy boxes, just to catch you all.

Was just about to say the same thing! It is definitely the only option I can think of! Obviously that or either someone else is submitting information to VM.

hi all,

Just had a word with him, VM pointed out that he done the payment to cable box shop where he got his box from? Is cable box shop caught out or something... they got the info from police etc thats what vm told him.

the cable box shop did get caught and thats where i got my box from and i recived 1 of them letters saying to dispose of my box ha ha ha

are you on about mycablebox.&.uk as i brought some things from them and have never got a letter or a call?

If you got a phonecall you could mention that you bought the box for FTA channels on a foreign cable provider. Such as in germany.
Dont think they can say owt then as you say your "not" using your box on their network and the box is legal without any software on it anyways.
