Exclamation tsop lift on 250/255

Hello again lads i just saw a old video on tsop lifts on an ambit 250 all he did was lift the chip and reinstall it ? is that all you have to do to unbrick a modem? i thought you would have to reprogramme it in some way or replace it with a new one ? im even more confused lol ahhh waht the worst that can happen lol

it will go bang in a puff of smoke ?
it will catch fire ?
it wont ever work again lol ?
i will die a horrible painfull death breathing toxic fumes from the solder lol?
me fecking garden wall will get bigger with all the poxy bricks lol
or it might actually work and i will jump around all excited like cause it worked lol.

any advice would be appreciated lads in advance

you need to lift the chip and reprogram with the willem 4.5, you must use a heat blower in order to make it a good job, i still done some now, not as meny anymore tho.... but if you want to tri it, be prpared to mess the first 5-10 modems up in order to get it right....but once you master it you can do them in less than 5 mins(just remove and replace) takes about 25-40 mins to reprogram, get some old boards and tri removing the chips...

willem 4.5 isnt the only way, but its probably the cheapest as the tsop48 socket is built in as the adapters cost around 35 quid each alone.

and yeah, pretty spot on with dead modem numbers, i think i killed around 4 getting progressively better until i got the knack of it.... but i have been soldering for years, i wouldnt suggest it to someone whos not got alot of experiance.
