I'd recommend Acronis True Image for imaging your PC as you go along - do a fresh install, take and image, do drivers, take and image, do windows update, take an imge, etc etc.

If had it before where I've changed one tiny thing and I get stutter or something and can't sort it without going back to an earlier image.
A better/cheaper way is to go to your hdd manufacturer and download there backup software as it is more than likely made by acronis or similar
and is free (migration software) just need a spare hdd and your good to go

right got fresh install sorted image taken sp1 installed along with tv pack all smooth

open up media center but now im stuck as to how to use my second tuner to get the downloadable guide
atm the second tuner is installed but not connected and my floppy has my VM feed
when i select to setup my tv signal vmc automatically detects both tuners and says the second 1 has no signal (which is correct) now no matter which way i try i cannot get to the point where i can configue a guide of the second tuner
is it because im just been dumb and it does need to be connected soley for this part?
or is there something i haven't done or am missing

cheers guys

What is the second tuner you have installed? In my case it's a TT C1501 and, after I installed the BDA DVB-C drivers, just picks up that a DVB-C card is inserted and I had to tell it to use and use the Virgin cable EPG. I think I've read that if you're using an analogue card you need to tell it that it's controlling a cable set top box, and that the IR blasters are working fine (even if they're not connected).

Are there different drivers available for Media Centre for that card? Did try looking on Hauppauge's website but there's so many cards I wasn't sure where to start looking! If there are different drivers for Media Centre, try the drivers for non-Media Centre (might be labelled BDA drivers). Most VMC-specific drivers make the card appear to be a DVB-T, where we specifically want the PC to see a DVB-C card.
