Default 5100 signal problem

My 5100 has latest F/W DarX 16-01-09 still having problems even after a power scan, picture breaks and freezes on most chanels, have tried different cable and even bought an attenuator, still breaking up.

I have noticed before i do a scan the signal strength fluctuates between 10% and 80% every couple of seconds. My VM box works fine. A friend took my 5100 to his house and said it worked fine.
I live on the wirral so symbol rate is 6952, iv'e also scanned 6887 and get same results, chanels breaking up.

Any ideas before this gets put through a window :-(

U need to trace the wires back to make sure there is no break in the connection. I had this problem and it all came down to one of the cables not being screwed on tightly enough!

I have a slight variation on this theme with my Max Blue box.

I split the signal, one going into the sub box in the TV room, the other going to the bedroom via aerial cable (which was already there so why not).

However all the channels on one of the frequencies suffers from the jitters with the signal level at 80%.

I tried it with the box connected after the splitter but not through the aerial and it was fine. So the aerial cable would seem to be the problem.

But what I have difficulty with is why only the one frequency is affected (721) and not any of the others. Channels on this frequency include SS2 and Diva+1.

Since I've already got subscribed SKY in the TV room SS2 doesn't bother me. But when I kick the wife into the bedroom and she wants to watch Diva+1 - I cop a nagging.

Any thoughts ?

see if manually adjusting the frequency improves it
ie try 721.250 or 699.750

Tried adjusting the frequency without success. However, since there is a splitter at the white box which divides the signal between the TV and Broadband, I'm going to try splitting the broadband side for the TV room and pass the TV side directly to the bedroom.

Will let you know how it goes.
