50+ on what? downstream and snr? that would be wayyyy over spec and will cause all sorts of locking issues.

post details, then you can have answers.

also, haxorware 1.1 wont ram boot, but if you do option D, then when it asks you where to save press 1 for first firmware bank, you still wont screw up your bootloader.

Managed to get the 1.1 installed fine but still same problem. Still believe it has something to do with the fact that it was connected to a paid Virgin feed. Probably a niave feeling but it's the only logical one that I can think of due to my past experiences.

Never had a problem with a 200/250/255/256 being connected or used at home and I have another 250 that's working at present.

Just really confused.

PS: Thanks for your time

its nothing to do with being paid or unpaid, virgin just allow or disallow a mac address that you are paying for, network stays the same.

reset factory defaults, enter freq, then let it scan upstream and sort itself out.... might reboot itself a few times, but it should lock eventually.

once its lock, it should sync pretty much instantly next time.

Thanks again mate.

In keeping with the weirdness, I got up today and the unit just worked! No problems and straight on.

I took your advice anyway and Reset to Factory Defaults also and again it went straight on. Very strange.

Can you see what the problem could have been? Afraid of handing the 250 back to the guy and the same thing happening again.
