Thumbs up newbie confussed

hi all

just over a week ago vm knocked my modem off, so got my mate to sniff for macs with new confiq as hes in a different area to me.

we got a few, and at first not 1 of them would work so i decided to change the last digit on the tftp address. i got my new ip address and was on, 30 mins later back off again this went on for about 2 hrs untill my modem stayed on.

a week later and my modem still works which is great.

but what i want to know is i have not done any thing different to the first time i tried but this time they work , anyone care to elaborate on why it works now but not before???????????

oh ye im on infinite and used 250 confiq if that makes any difference.

I think it was because your tftp was set to the old address, now you have updated your tftp the macs now work.

PS Welcome to the forum m8
