Ambit 250 losing connection constantly

Hi folks

Just new to the forum and im having a bit of trouble with my modem. Had it for around a year and had no issues until around a few weeks ago, it has started cutting out.

Everytime this happens i have to reboot the modem and it will start to run again for about 5-10mins then cut off until i reboot it.

I have tried various things such as changing the mac numerous times with the 250 configurator, checking all the connections and i took it to a friends house to try it just incase it was a problem with my line, but the exact same thing was happening at his house.

Any suggestions appreciated?

go to 192.168.100.1 and look in the log to see whats happening.

logs on the webpage are pretty much useless.

you need a max232 or enable telnet and take logs from there.

I've always got on ok with the web logs but fair enough.

Ive not got a max232, is it possible just to do the telnet logs via ethernet?

If yes, how do i go about it?

Whats the user/pass for this?

try admin : infinite. that's the default for the old infinite FW, but could have been changed to anything. I suspect it's gonna be your mac anyway mate.

try getting a new one by putting one of your current macs into dhcpsniffer then clicking discover > brute force.

Will i be able to use the macs that i find?

if getting kicked off a lot, the mac on your pc or laptop could be blocked, have you tried mack maker and changed it?
