This is a pretty nice camera and Nikon are top shelf. But, I will say at the price these go for is a little high for a 6.1 mega pixel camera. I am sure the images it takes are breath taking but the cost for what it does is a little high.. I am sure you can find it on ebay for pretty cheap though... Street price is 762 up on dpreview.com and the sample images for this camera up there are awesome so I maybe wrong about this camera....:dunno: :drink1:

hmm i been thinking about buying one of these. Im still using a compact and would like to upgrade into SLRs soon.
Would this camera be a good place to start ? Or should i invest a little bit extra and go for the D70 ? |

I love Nikon D50, its nice, affordable and its easier to use. It's the camera I recommend for anyone who wants the best camera possible! The D50 is especially good for kids, sports and action compared to more expensive fixed-lens cameras. I prefer it over everything else from other makers because it's so easy to use, works fast, focuses fast, responds immediately to your inputs and the image quality is fantastic.
