Default Config files UBR?????

right here we go...got given a 256,when i tested it at my mams house it worked fine was 10mb..i went into 192.168.100.1 to have a look at it and it came up with the virgin media page with a few details MAC and serial but no config file....and in UBR3-0-0(thornaby,stockton-on-tees)...i took this modem to my mates in UBR6-0-0(norton,stockton-on-tees)...i decided to use this mac on my freshly flashed haxoware 250..i changed the details as per the hax guide to the tee.....only thing i didnt have was a config file so i used cmreg-ntlhm120-rts98.cm which i found on the bottom of the config menu on hax....it came online but when i tested it was only 2mb....i just cant get my head around the config files and what they do and how i know which config file is for which mac etc.....can someone maybe clear things up a little for me a little

you need to read the threads and use the search. this is covered in lots of threads. thoe whole modem config thing has changed recently and its very topical at the moment.
