Willowbank, I work for Orange, and as my advice stated, its Blacklisted. Orange, nor any other network will unlock a blacklisted phone unless you are the account holder of the original phone, which is where people are trying to report phones lost and sell them. I think its a good move, but ultimately when you report it lost, stolen or damaged the network will block both the original sim and the original phone. Basically the list is then shared between all networks here in the uk and the manufacturers and police. The minute the phone is found etc, then it can be sent back to the manufacturer and they go from there. Basically, whoever the mug is that bought that Orange phone is, they've dipped out. To unlock a phone with a manufacturer, you have to be; A. The account holder B. The Handset IMEI must be a handset which has been registered to the account at somepoint (when you get a new phone you register a new sim - regardless of upgrading / new contract etc) C. You've had the account for a minimum term of 6 months. Basically, you've a lovely paperweight, which will only get worse if you have the IMEI undone anyway, since there are numerous issues with the C905. I would send it to friends/family in Fleetwood, and get them to get your money back from the shop, also speak to the Trading Standards, if the shop refuse, since most have to give you some form of returns policy, even if it is 16 days or such. Blakey has offered to purchase this, so up to you for your actions, but you can take it back, and that'll make the store more aware of their actions in future. Hope this helped.

thanks Kingsofslpooge for your time replying, just a quick resume, I have tried getting my cash back etc. I was in Blackpool for a stag weekend bought the phone Sat afternoon while in fleetwood it was working with my Tesco sim didn't notice till Monday it was in-active, due to work load couldnt go back to fleetwood till last weekend three weeks after buying, aparantly the stall did no wrong they checked a data base phone was clean, it was not reported lost till i have been told late Sunday, and was blocked by 02 after that, I know what I'm asking is wrong but morally?? I own a sony k800i pay as you go on orange, why can't I use the imei number from this phone on the sony c905 and then dump the K800i, The answer is I don't know how to and no one will give me some decent info, the c905 was not stolen and I bought in good faith, yes people have said is was cheap what did you expect, I'm not some phone dude I'm 52 I bought it for the camera etc I do a lot of fishing and the radio/camera are great but I'm still carrying my K800i with me, so can anyone pm me with any info, on doing the moral thing, I have even tried asking if there is a reward for the phone no one want's it back no one will un-block it what a waste of a phone/resources, someone sold one last week on ebay stating orange would un-block for £20 it was sold for £143 I would not rip or tell lies to off-load the phone I made the mistake, now i'm just trying to make it right

Sell the phone abroad or for spares. You could always keep it yourself for spares but you will not get it unblocked in this country because it's a very big risk for any phone shop to take as they could lose their business and their job.

Basically its against the law in most countries to change the IMEI, which as previously explained, the blacklist database is checked by a lot of organizations. Your best bet, is either Ebay, and be honest, but I guarantee you, Orange nor any other provider, will not unbar a phone which is not yours for £20. Thats unlocking the handset to allow you to have use on other networks, they will not remove the IMEI bar. Sell it bud, your best bet is be honest, accept the hit, and you never know, you could get what / more than you paid for it. Up to you, I know what I would recommend, and your the one who has to take that choice, not me, i'm only giving you advice which all phone companies will stop you knowing/with-hold from you. |

Yes, you need A2 uploader and the generic firmware files to debrand mate. PM me your e-mail address and I will try and help you over MSN. I have debranded many A2 phones so I can tell you what to do
