VIRGIN probs, CONSTANT FLASHING ONLY WHEN GAMING??

i'm on 10Mb with virgin,

after loads of calls to them n a new (256) modem i still get lots of lag when gaming,

now i know power,sync,ready lights should be prem on which they are,
and normally enet is either perm on or very rapid flash
and send receive a slower flash(depending on what its doing at the time).

when i suffer lag i notice my enet,send,receive all flash together at the same speed, (simular speed to send/receive normal speed)

any1 any ideas or ever heard of this??

virgin in the end say not there fault as it could be the server i'm playing on, BUT i know its not as other dont get it, and they just see me lag, i play on many servers and diff games, some games it shows as a lag spike, others it shows i've diconnected from server, lasts ard 1-2 secs, just enough for me to die lool.

any pointers appreciated

How have you got your setup connected? Routers? Switches? Firewalls? etc.
It could be the servers your on.
It could be if you have a router that the ports havnt been opened.
Whats the internet like connected to a computer?

I had same prob on a surfboard when fragging in q2.Done tracerts and had engineers up.So the ntl bloke just changed the modem and hey presto...the problem was gone.(during the process he forgot to tick a box somewhere and upgraded me to at that time bronze 2 then 4 meg conx.Also they stopped charging us for itand got 6 years free BB. I dont think you will be that lucky though m9 so try and get the modem switched before you do anything else.Tell them its stopped working the cat peed in it or u spilled some bevvy on it.Tell them anything

i'm plugged straight in to the virgin modem no routers or owt.

tis a new 1, got it sent to me on tues, due to this problem!!!!

defo not the game servers, game server lag tends to affect all!!!
