Ambit 200 - Still wont connect to intrnet

hi guys i have an ambit 200 here that will not connect to the internet i have had it unbricked and also the chip lifted . I have entered my frequency which is 331000000 as i am in liverpool also i have entered a working mac address (using the 192.168.100.1:666 page). I have gone onto the config page (192.168.100.1) and i can see this on the status screen:

Aquire downstream channel - In progress
Obtain upstream parameters - blank
upstream ranging - blank
establish ip connection using dhcp - blank
establish time of day - blank
transfer operational parameters through tftp - blank
register connection - blank
cable modem status - offline
initialize baseline privacy - blank

On the configuration page i have this:

Frequency plan - european pal i/b/g
upstream channel id - 0
frequency (hz) - 331000000

also i have the enable DHCP server ticked

and on the logs page i have this

the time - 3 critical - 0x0501BDC8 - SYNC timing synchronization failure (Failed to acquire FEC framing)

I do not know what any of these messages mean and also i have had people telling me make sure telnet is enabled which it is and i am connecting using my ethernet and cable feed in also the power people are saying you need to do this using ambit tool or hyperterminal. If this is the way to do it should i be using a max232 lead or a black cat lead.

If anybody could help it would be much appreciated as it is starting to get really annoying

telnet is fine, can you connect to the modem using putty or hyperterm? you should get it scrolling for freq's.
