Default n00b - Vplug ? help unscramble etc

Afternoon, well i read through the vplug thread that's sticked but I'm still a little lost and am looking for some guidance....massive n00b here so go easy....

Ok got my self a Twinhan and it's all installed and working great, i have the following software on my pc

DVB - Viewer
DVB - Dream
Media Portal.

All work fine except the DVB - Viewer (which is not a massive problem at the moment as i think i need to do some more learning on that and i think it's a transponder issue etc)

How ever i am interested in using Vplug as i believe that this is the thing that will unscramble the channels on the card etc.....

Would i install vplug into the folders of all the programs that i'm using..or just one of them.....

EDIT: i have installed the vplug files into the folders of the respectful programs but nothing with the encrypted channels?

Just a little lost here......

Thanks

DVBVewer goes in -(with DVBViewer open) about/confiuration folder/plug ins or C/Program Files\DVBViewer\Plugins\
DVBDream goes in - c (or whatever)/DVBDream/plugins/pip00

once for each programme

Then do as in the vplug sticky.

mowax, mediaportal is a messier install to be honest. You need to use the mdapifilter in order to install vplug and watch non-fta channels.
Its the PITA price you pay for an app that has a nice gui as opposed to the easy install for apps like progdvb which look ghastly. But at the end of the day, all you wann do is watch tv, so maybe the front end isnt' important to you.

I digress, if you want info on it, go here:
DVBNetwork Forums • Login (may have to register, but its worth it)
check out the mdapi sticky and go from there.

Good luck.

Thanks very much for that, i am just about to build a HTPC and seeing what the best options are availiabel for me.

I would love to get media center working in vista that would be the ultimate dream and if i can't get that working then i think i'll go for media portal as that looks the dogs.

Thanks for the links.

I am looking to see if i can get a hardcam for the twinhan rather than mess about using vplug/softcams and that.

Thanks, i'll check out that link when i get a minute.

Don't think you will have much joy with the hardcam, Icecrypt white and blue Zeta deffo don't work (not recognised in CI) but feel free to try any others and let us know how you get on. Seems like a lot of people are getting these twinhans now, oh well better late than never!

So far the only way to get it working in VMC or MCE2005 is by using DVBSBridge with either DVBViewer, ProgDVB, MyTheatre or DVBDream.
